First-rate listening skills are the number one asset branch staff bring to their jobs. Great listening leads to a better understanding of customer needs and the opportunity to fulfill those needs with appropriate solutions.
Here are five ways to boost listening skills:
- Let customers fully finish what they are saying before speaking
- Don't interrupt
- Don't get distracted
- Actually reiterate what a customer has said
- Ask open-ended questions to gain a complete understanding of what a customer is saying
