LendingTree Certified Loan Officer Program
Established in 2004, the LendingTree Loan Officer Certification Program is designed to recognize outstanding loan officers on the LendingTree Network. Loan Officers who are recognized by the Certification Program are top performers, are committed to providing outstanding customer service, and participate in LendingTree training programs.
The Gold Leaf Seal is the cornerstone of the certification program, and is awarded to loan officers who perform in approximately the top 20% of the loan officer network. Based on lender feedback the prestigious President's Club level was introduced in Q2 2007 to recognize loan officers who are the best of the best (approximately the top 10% of the loan officer network). The Gold Leaf Seal and President’s Club seal are invaluable sales tools which allow loan officers to immediately establish credibility with their consumers.
Certification Program Criteria
Loan officers must meet specific closed unit, customer service and training criteria to be considered for either the Gold Leaf or President’s Club. Closed unit criteria is reviewed quarterly and adjusted based on volume predictions and current market conditions.
Please note two important program changes:
- New Training Requirement! - Participation in LendingTree University On Demand (LendingTree’s on-line training program) is required for all new certifications and all renewals. Satisfactory completion of “The Loan Officer Commitments” and “The LendingTree Customer Experience” will be required. **A renewing loan officer must complete the courses prior to their renewal date**
- Additional Opportunities to Qualify! - Based on your feedback, we have added an additional opportunity to achieve certification. A loan officer must meet one of the following criteria:
- Product Based: Certification is now available to loan officers who close a specific number of units of units at the product level (mortgage or home equity). This opportunity takes FICO out of the equation, but it does increase the closed unit expectation.
- Segment/FICO Based: This is the standard certification criteria that has been in place since program inception. The closed unit requirement is smaller and is broken down by segment and FICO (ex. Purchase Prime, Refinance Subprime).

Timing:
Loan Officer Certification is awarded on a quarterly basis and is valid for one year from date of receipt. Please note that if a loan officer exceeds the escalated complaint threshold for their status, their certification status will be revoked.
- All non-certified loan officers will be reviewed quarterly for certification eligibility.
- All Gold Leaf loan officers will be reviewed quarterly for President’s Club eligibility.
- Certification renewal will be set for one year after date of last award receipt.
- A loan officer may only display a current Gold Leaf Seal or President’s Club Seal. Any loan officer who displays multiple or non-current seals will be asked to remove them per LendingTree legal requirements.
Reporting:
In order to participate in the Loan Officer Certification Program, a lender must report closings to LendingTree by loan officer via auto-assign, manual funding or the automated funding spreadsheet. If a lender does not utilize any of these tools, they may still participate by providing LendingTree with the quantitative data necessary for analysis. For more information about this, please contact your Account Executive.
