The LendingTree Face of Success

November 2005 – Tom Fox

Although LendingTree customers are internet savvy, the telephone is my most important tool. I find that my greatest success comes from speaking with my customer, not just communicating by email. Email, while excellent for relaying information, cannot relay passion for what I do. I started in the mortgage industry after five years as a
physical therapist. My time as a therapist helped me realize that improving the quality of a person's life can have a dramatic effect on their attitude. I try to carry that mindset over to the lending arena as well. When we as originators spend the time to understand our customers needs we go beyond the mortgage itself. If we truly meet and exceed the expectations of the customer then we will win their business. In addition to the referrals that follow from a satisfied customer, we have improved the financial quality of our customers' lives.
