The LendingTree brand is about empowering consumers and helping our customers find the best loan that meets their needs. An empowered consumer is an educated consumer – and a customer who will trust LendingTree and its Lenders, spread the word about the excellent service and information available, and return to LendingTree every time they have a financing need.
LendingTree has made a significant investment in the Smart Borrower Center, and we encourage all Loan Officers on the LendingTree network to take advantage of the information available.
How Loan Officers Can Use the Smart Borrower Center
Use the center as a tool to help customers understand their loan offers.
- Instead of selling a loan, provide advice to help the customer meet his/her goal (homeownership, down-payment assistance, low monthly mortgage payments, etc.). Instead of focusing on the loan, focus on the customer's needs.
- The tools provided on the SBC can help you demonstrate why your offer best meets the customer's needs - helping you close more loans.
Use the SBC as a tool to train new loan officers.
- Not only is the information on the SBC valuable to consumers, but it can help loan officers better understand the LendingTree process and the industry in general.
