New Gold Leaf Seal Program - See How to Qualify in Q3 2005!
LendingTree is pleased to announce an improved process for Network loan officers to qualify for the Gold Leaf Seal! These changes are in direct response to your requests for a more streamlined program that is easier to understand, track and measure!
The Gold Leaf Seal is designed to recognize outstanding loan officers and it is the cornerstone of the LendingTree loan officer certification program. The award is presented to an elite group of loan officers who have provided exemplary service to LendingTree consumers. The Gold Leaf Seal helps loan officers establish immediate credibility with consumers and is an invaluable sales tool for qualifying loan officers.
Starting in Q3 2005, the Gold Leaf Seal will be presented to loan officers based on the following achievements:
Criteria
- The loan officer must close a minimum number of units in a loan segment during the analysis period. A loan officer will qualify for the Gold Leaf Seal by meeting the unit minimum in any of the available six segments. Below are the minimum close units necessary to qualify for the Gold Leaf Seal in Q3 of 2005:
| Product |
Q3 Close Unit Minimum |
| Purchase Prime |
6 units |
| Purchase Sub Prime |
3 units |
| Refinance Prime |
12 units |
| Refinance Sub Prime |
6 units |
| Home Equity Prime |
14 units |
| Home Equity Sub Prime |
6 untis |
- A qualifying loan officer must work for a Network Lender that maintains an average 3.25 Overall Satisfaction Score based on consumer surveys completed during the analysis quarter.
- A qualifying loan officer must have less than three (3) escalated consumer issues that can be directly related to the loan officer during the analysis quarter.
- A qualifying loan officer must be approved by Lender management to receive the Gold Leaf Seal.
Timing
- The Gold Leaf Seal is awarded on a quarterly basis
- The Gold Leaf Seal designation is good for one year from the date of receipt. However, if a loan officer has more than three (3) escalated consumer issues that can be directly related to the loan officer during any quarter, the Gold Leaf Seal will be revoked.
Reporting
- The Lender must report closings by loan officer to LendingTree via automated assign, manual funding, or the automated funding spreadsheet.
- If the Lender does not use any of these tools, they may still participate if they provide LendingTree with the quantitative data necessary for the analysis.
Loan officers who qualify for the Gold Leaf Seal during Q3 2005 will be notified via email after the evaluation process is complete. The close unit criteria for Q4 2005 will be announced in September 2005.

Lender/ Real Estate Broker Partnership Program Update
In the 1st half of 2005, we have seen great traction in our lender/real estate broker partnership efforts. Please take a moment to review some highlights from the program, as well as some helpful problem-solving tips.
Why the Program Works:
- Without the Find a REALTOR® program, you risk losing 70%* or more of your consumers through an unsolicited lender recommendation but with Find a REALTOR® you only risk losing < 10%.
- Lenders who've used the Find a REALTOR® program have experienced approximately 5 times more successful purchase closings.
- Lender issues average 0.7 per 1,000 consumer referrals each month, representing a less than 1% complaint rate.
Reported Problems Are Taken Seriously:
If you have an issue with a real estate company, we want to know. LendingTree helps with issue resolution for our Lender and real estate partners. To better serve your prospective home buyers, we encourage you to take advantage of our process…
Partner Hotline Process
- Contact us immediately at 1-800-DIAL-TREE (1-800-342-5873) or partnerhotline@lendingtree.com.
- LendingTree will respond to your report within 24 hours and let you know that the issues are being addressed. You will be informed of either the issue resolution or escalation within 3-4 business days from your report.
- If the issue requires escalation, the Partner Hotline Team Manager works with Vice Presidents from the Lending and Real Estate customer management areas to reach a resolution.
- The Escalations Team will communicate the resolution directly to your account manager and will be available to answer questions as needed.
- Escalated cases are recorded in a database for monthly review by the Escalations Team to determine the performance rating of parties participating in the Find a REALTOR® product.
We hope this information is helpful to you as you work together with your consumers, and their real estate agents, to make the most of their home buying experience
*Industry Standard: 70% of consumers follow the lender recommendation made by their REALTOR®

Sales Tip of the Month - Engaging the Customer
Reprinted from justsell.com
Engaging with the customer, in every case, is an opportunity to further enhance your relationship and build even higher barriers to competitive entry.
Quality customer service is defined by the individual experiencing it-- one size, one solution does not work... buyers want to be treated as unique individuals. However, companies renowned for their customer service know that one can orchestrate or create a customer service experience that most often exceeds customers' expectations.
