One of my keys to success is my determination to creating a comfortable and pleasant experience for the client during the loan process.

I accomplish this by dedicating a large amount of time explaining the loan process and guidelines to my clients in order for them to feel knowledgeable and confident about the decision they have made. I also like to keep them regularly updated throughout the transaction with emails and phone calls so they are well informed and are prepared for the next steps.


Wow your clients with the Smart Borrower
"7 for 7" Program

7 for 7

LendingTree has just introduced a new resource you can use to wow your clients. The Smart Borrower “7 for 7” alert is a weekly dose of accessible money management advice. Topics include everything from loans, smart borrowing and money management to credit scores, real estate, car facts and student finances. “7 for 7” marks another step forward in the LendingTree mission to empower borrowers so they can make savvy decisions about their money.

Because most people consider financial advice about as enjoyable as a trip to the dentist, we’ve worked hard to make ‘7 for 7’ fun and easy to digest. The tips give consumers quick and actionable ideas they can use to make smarter decisions and fatten their wallets.

Each Monday morning, the “7 for 7” alert will deliver seven tips—one for each day of the week—to opt-in recipients via Real Simple Syndication (RSS) newsfeeds and on the LendingTree.com Smart Borrower Web site. Go to LendingTree.com/SmartBorrower/7-for-7 to sign up. You can build your credibility with borrowers you work with by passing this link on to your customers as a way to help them get their finances in order before formally submitting a loan application.

The LendingTree Smart Borrower Center offers a wealth of information for borrowers. From piggyback loans to bridge financing basics, we help consumers navigate the sometimes-complex mortgage process. Check it out and use it to help you close more loans.


Changes to Loan Officer Certification Program

Thanks to all your feedback, the Loan Officer Certification Program has recently been enhanced. The addition of The President's Club Seal will recognize loan officers who consistenly perform at the very highest levels. Criteria for achieving this elite designation include closed unit production, satisfying an on-line training requirement and providing excellent customer service.

Qualification for both levels of certification is now offered by two categories; prime or subprime plus loan type, or by loan type only. Additionally there is now an on-line training requirement for all new and renewal certifications.

Your Training - Your Schedule

Currently live with four courses, OnDemand allows you to receive training on the LendingTree customer experience and programs right at your desk. Current courses include:

Find a REALTOR® I: Learn the importance of using the Find A REALTOR® program by understanding the benefits to you and the customer.

Find a REALTOR®II: Learn the basics of the program as well as how to opt a customer in. You’ll go through a simulated customer interaction which will familiarize you with the opt-in process – making you the expert when you talk to your customers.

The Customer Experience: Better understand who the LendingTree customer is and what drives them to LendingTree. This insight will prepare you to optimize your customer interaction and close more deals. **This course is required for certification.

The Loan Officer Commitments: Working with lenders on our network, LendingTree has created eight commitments to excellence for the expected behavior of a LendingTree loan officer. By applying the commitments to your daily work flow, you’ll set yourself apart from your competition. **This course is required for all certification.
